WordPress 3.1 Release Candidate 3

WordPress 3.1 is almost here, so what does this mean for you? Easier, quicker and faster ways to get your content in front of your audience. If you are not on WordPress yet, now is the time to dive in head first. Start the new year off right with business blogging and connecting with your customer.

Highlights include

• Admin Bar – Easily access various links to useful admin screens. The admin bar is displayed when a user is logged in and visiting the site and is not displayed in admin screens for single blog installs. For multisite installs it displays both when visiting the site and in the admin screens.

• Over 700 tickets closed – Tickets you say? Tickets are everything from bug fixes, errors, to new features and additions. A big thank you to everyone who helped out!
• Import/Export Overhaul – Importing and exporting a great ways to move your blog from one place to another or from blogger to WordPress!
• Internal Linking – click a button for an internal link and it allows you to search for a post or browse a list of existing content by title, date, author, etc. and select it for inclusion
• Licensing – WordPress is available under the GPL version 2 or (at your option) any later version. This is a new move to better accommodate libraries and frameworks in the future.
• PHP and MySQL Requirements – Basicly your web server should have the most current version of PHPMySQL in order to run WordPress and 3.2 will require this so prepare for PHP version 5.2 or greater, and MySQL version 5.0.15 or greater, with Version 3.2 in spring of 2011.
